ABSTRACT
The anthropomorphic tenor of Fisher's statement aside, it captures the spirit of his revolutionary ideas and contributions to the design and analysis of experiments. Fisher was not only instrumental in dispelling the naive notion that the ideal experiment is one in which a single variable is manipulated while controlling for all other variables, but he also developed the conceptual and methodological tools for the design, execution, and analysis of experiments with multiple independent variables.
