ABSTRACT
Judging by the comparatively greater amount of attention devoted to reliability (as opposed to validity) in measurement and research in sociobehavioral sciences, it would appear that many consider it to be the paramount measurement problem. This is a misconception whose deleterious consequences may be far reaching.
