ABSTRACT
At the stage considered in the current chapter, the alternatives for architectural suitability and functional stability should be thoroughly assessed, recognising the durability aspects already discussed in Chapter 3 and the materials options introduced in Chapter 4. Agreement within the team that a viable design can be provided is essential before proceeding to the aspects in later chapters, because otherwise there will be serious consequences in delays and added costs.
