ABSTRACT

Career counseling focuses on helping clients obtain greater life satisfac tion. A meaningful, rewarding, and economically satisfying career often lies at the heart of a client’s satisfaction with life. However, some clients satisfy their personal needs through their leisure time activities. Vernon Zunker (1994) de fined career counseling as including “all counseling activities associated with career choices over a life span. In the career counseling process, all aspects of individual needs (including family, work, and leisure) are recognized as inte gral parts of career decision and planning” (p. 3).
