ABSTRACT

Marianne: If only you were. We’d make a fresh start in every way. We’d get rid

of all the routine and the slack habits. We’d talk over the past. We’d try to find

where we’ve gone wrong. You’d never hear any accusations. I promise you. It’s

all so unreal. I don’t know what to do about it. You’re shutting me out. Can’t you

promise to come back? Then I’d know something. I mean, you can’t just leave

me without any hope. It’s not fair. Even if you have no intention of returning, you

could at least say you’re coming home again.
