ABSTRACT

Many people, perhaps erroneously, associate MPR solely with media relations, yet this chapter will only address this in broad terms, as the next chapter will go into the practical details of using media relations. This chapter will start by assessing the relationship between marketing and public relations. We will then consider the meaning of MPR, and its possible application by event communicators. Lastly, we will consider which MPR tools individually and collectively an event communicator can use.
