ABSTRACT
Like plants, arguments come in all shapes and sizes. Some grow separately, some wind around each other. There is a tendency in the GM debate, however, for the propagators of the various points of view to grow a particular species in isolation, separated from its neighbours and kept behind a carefully guarded fence. This isolationism is not confined to any particular perspective.
