ABSTRACT
Pathé is increasingly given attention as rhetorical strategy. Pathé is the technical equivalent of emotion and passion. Rhetorical uses of passion and emotion have powerful and immediate impact on motivation to act, and part of how we are in the world depends on human emotion. But as we know instinctively, passion needs to be carefully gauged in communication and in motivating action owing to its inherent irrationality and often personal/biased intent.
