ABSTRACT

On the side of value, the denial of any possible "divorce" between value and existence is usually another way of affirming that "values" and ideals cannot be unFeal. I Man, it is said, is an aspiring animal. The character of his aspirations reveals much that he is. He is in the making, and he may become what, as yet, he is not, or is not fully. What he aspires to be would be continuous with his present nature if he achieved it, and this continuity would he integral and not simply or chiefly a piece of temporal consecution. Man's is a growing spirit, rooted in his present actuality, but essentially a burgeoning spirit.
