ABSTRACT
Six stages may be recognised in drainage basin morphometry, according broadly with nine stages recognised by Evans (1987a) for morphometry of all specific landforms. For drainage basins the stages are: definition and conceptualisation; network delimitation; sampling; measurement; variable definition; and analysis. These are used here as a framework for outlining techniques, although the first and last are omitted as being beyond the scope of the present section.
