ABSTRACT

Javolenus Priscus, Gaius (or Lucius) Octavius Tidius Tossianus (late C1 AD), was a Roman jurist and administrator. He commanded two legions and held the post of iuridicus (second in rank to the governor) in Britain. He was appointed suffect consul in 86 and in 90 governed Upper Germany. A year or two later he governed Syria and c.96 was proconsul of Africa.
