ABSTRACT
Brainstorm with the pupils their rights - that is, what they need - regarding the environment: for example, the right to shelter, to food, to warmth, to make a livelihood.
Use the 'consequence map', see Resource 20, to explore how all people in the world are connected to each other and how the enjoyment of rights by one group can take away the rights of another group. The complete Consequence map could be shared with pupils. Or the beginning could be shown and pupils asked to complete it. Alternatively, cut up the different parts of the Consequence map and ask pupils to reassemble it using knowledge and under standing of science and geography.
