This book is no replacement for reading Plotinus himself. Yet it is my hope that either by reading it first or along with reading the Enneads the reader who wishes to familiarize himself or herself with Plotinus’ philosophy, will find it helpful. It is also my hope that some parts of it at least can be of interest to the more advanced students of Plotinus, even if I have not particularly striven for novel interpretations. Still, there may be a fresh take on a number of points.
