ABSTRACT
It is difficult to investigate private behaviour. As lamented in earlier chapters of this book, even surveys of alcohol and tobacco use are certainly biased and flawed by inaccurate self-reports and by reluctance to co-operate. Such difficulties are likely to be even more marked in relation to sexual behaviour (Bagnall 1991d).
