ABSTRACT

Bioethics, as both an academic field and a public discourse on an international scale, has developed extremely rapidly over the past few decades. This is not surprising, as bioethical issues touch everyone in one way or another and raise many challenging moral, socio-political, religious and cultural questions. As a result of this growing interest, in the English-speaking world increasing attention is being given to medical ethics in China and cross-cultural bioethics in general.
