ABSTRACT

If you are fortunate to live in a part of the world where water infrastructure is reliable, imagine, for a moment, your own daily dependence on water systems: your morning shower and first cup of coffee. A glass of water, just before you drink it, pumped through thousands of miles of piping and treated to rigorous regulatory compliance requirements. Rain and wastewater efficiently channeled away and treated before discharge into the environment. Think about the embedded water in your food, clothing and even the computer chip in your laptop.
