ABSTRACT
This chapter is about what we need to know to use our knowledge for personal, social and environmental betterment, how action research can help in the process, and the kind of mindset necessary.
Action research has potential for human, non-human and environmental betterment. Although the term itself may eventually be superseded or embedded within newer forms of research (it is already linked with narrative inquiry, appreciative inquiry and others), what it stands for is durable. However, the values as well as the knowledge they inspire need to be under constant critical review.
