ABSTRACT
In 2005, during the rainy season in January when tourists were starting to get antsy and not sure how to spend their time, my American friend and budding tour company entrepreneur, Brandon, circulated a pamphlet all around the town. The small handbill listed “10 Fun Things to Do on Rainy Days in Puerto Viejo.” Listed as number one was: “Make Love! After all the Caribbean is very romantic, right? Don’t let it go to waste. And what better time?”1
