ABSTRACT
IT MAY HAVE COME AS A SURPRISE to readers that there has been no chapter inthis part of the book on Christology. For is not Christology the heart of Christian thought and practice?1 And do Jesus-films not constitute a whole sub-genre of the ‘biblical epic’? Christology has not, though, been absent from Part II. On the contrary, it has been present throughout.The way this has occurred constitutes a theological point that needs drawing out at this stage.
