ABSTRACT

After sustaining a TBI, if a student is treated in the hospital emergency department (HED), hospital inpatient setting, and/or a rehabilitation facility, he/she will likely have received a variety of assessments in each of these settings. In addition, assessment may occur in the home setting (e.g., the family system’s emotional readiness of the student to return to school). Successful return to school following TBI involves review and consideration of assessment data from all of these settings.
