ABSTRACT
However, various characteristics or properties of solidarity, well known to sociologists, can be gleaned from these references and placed into a reasonably coherent conceptual scheme:
(a) common attitudes of individuals - shared interests, purposes, norms, beliefs, values, experiences, needs, culture, feeling of support and identification with social system,
(b) common attributes of individuals - likeness, similarity, the inverse of independence and personality,
(c) common relations between individuals - cohesion, integration, direct mutual relations, kinship,
(d) common prescribed behaviors of individuals - cooperation, mutual aid and participation, exchange, shared responsibilities, integrative ritual,
(e) common proscribed behaviors of individuals - non-cooperation, behavior requiring restraint by external authority, repressive law and punishment,
the group, (h) collective behaviors of the group - complementarities, division of
labor, collectivism.
