ABSTRACT
The previous three chapters examined some common obstacles that surface shortly after a gay mate’s disclosure. Almost every straight spouse experiences these immediate risks and their accompanying emotions, including fear and shame, anger and grief, and challenges related to children, extended family, and social ties. Working through such severe tests takes genuine courage.
