IntroductionToday’s information-rich environment holds a tempting array of resources from which to choose for the research process. The World Wide Web has surpassed the trillion-page mark. Each day, thousands of newly developed Web sites on every conceivable subject go live, for better or worse. Managing the quality of information available through electronic means has become an impossible task.
