ABSTRACT

Our book was expressly written to provide relationship-mending guidance to advisors and consultants to business-owning families, and to concerned family members themselves. Of particular interest to readers will be our in-depth treatment, beginning with this first Interlude, of our work with the Sampson family, owners and managers of the Sampson Seed Company. By highlighting this family, we demonstrate our model for reconciling relationships, rebuilding trust, and creating a common vision for the future. We also show how we go about working directly with family members-as individuals, in small groups, and as a totality.
