Naprosyn: See NAPROXE. naproxen: A nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory drug used for the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The trade name is Naprosyn. NAPWA: See NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLE WITH AIDS. narcotic: A drug, such as opium, that dulls the senses and induces sleep. nasal ulcer: An open sore or lesion of the nose, accompanied by sloughing of inflamed necrotic tissue. nasopharynx: The part of the pharynx that lies above the soft palate (postnasal area).
