ABSTRACT
For the Balkans, the First World War was a direct sequel to the Balkan Wars of October 1912 to May 1913 and June-July 1913, and for that reason it is sometimes dubbed ‘the Third Balkan War’. In all, there were six consecutive years of armed confl ict in the Balkans, from 1912 to 1918.
