ABSTRACT
Knowing roughly what is in the Constitutional Treaty, how it emerged from the European Convention, the IGC and the existing texts, is useful. But this takes us only so far along the road to a full understanding. So how do we go further down the road? It might look as if all we have to do now is pick up the Constitutional Treaty and read on without further thought, but, in fact, it may not be wise to do so given its controversial nature.
