ABSTRACT
Among the great political events of the world political economy in the 1980s and 1990s belong, beside the collapse of state socialism, the significant changes in Western Europe. At a regional level, the EU initiated an effective cooperation among nation-states which surmounted a set of linked international regimes. How can we come to theoretical terms with this momentous development?
