ABSTRACT
These are just a few examples of the many ways in which tourism is bound up with international affairs. The relationship between the two will be explored in further detail below before we turn to an examination of tourism’s role in the trend towards globalization. But we will start with a discussion of the reasons for tourism’s absence from the field of IR.
