Organizing the job The extent to which it is necessary to organize construction work in a fonnal way will depend on several factors such as the nature and size of the job and number of people involved. On the one hand, for large complex jobs a building owner will usually appoint agents - an architect, quantity surveyor and so on to manage the project from start to fInish. On the other hand, small jobs can often be run quite successfully by owners perfonning most management functions themselves.
