ABSTRACT
Site selection The scope of site selection encompasses the sourcing, inspection, selection, and contracting of locations and facilities that will serve the needs of the event project, and
the old real-estate adage ‘location, location, location’ is equally applicable to selecting the best location and venue for an event as it is for selecting a site for a new business. Events of all types have been staged indoors and outdoors, in purpose-built and temporary facilities, in museums and along city streets, at amusement parks
and country clubs, on town squares and vacant lots, in convention centers and empty warehouses, and in stadiums and private homes. Locations can range from urban to remote and from local to distant and exotic destinations.
