ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter, a variety of 'in-the-camera' painted matte shots were described, all of which required successive re-exposure of the original negative. Although excellent image quality results from such work, the awkwardness and expense of the technique has never made it very popular with schedule-conscious, low-budget producers.
