ABSTRACT

We began this book with a quick peek into the future and explored a number of emerging organizational and business models by leading companies. We now return to the beginning of our personal journey writing this book-the innovative practices of the organizations profiled in this book. We believe that the case stories described throughout this book (particularly in Part 11) provide a unique contribution to business management, as they are grounded in the practice of innovative organizations. The cases are current and, at the same time, forward looking. If you skipped a few of the previous chapters and delved directly into the case studies, we don’t blame you. This book was not written to be read, necessarily, in the sequence defined by us. In fact, we expect you to have moved back and forth between theory and practice. We believe learning is a multidimensional experience and not meant to be a linear-this was the approach of our book.
