grams," who will be referred to in this book as the "Designer." Of course, the Designer should be familiar with the other roles and sub-
roles, particularly those in the learning specialist area. As appropriate, we will discuss how the Designer works with the "facilitator of learning" (facilitator) and the "developer of instructional strategies" (developer). Indeed, in some organizations, one person fills all three roles, though people are increasingly specializing as Designers.
