ABSTRACT

Manual consoles take the operator’s physical movements of the faders and send a control voltage to the dimmers directly related to the position of the fader on the console (Figure 18-1). A fader position of five sends a 5 V DC signal to the dimmer to which it is connected. The more channels on a console, the more complex can scenes become. Most consoles have two presets, which allow the scenes to be preset and then faded in by the scene master.
