ABSTRACT
Signal the staff holder to remain in position and move the instrument to the next position. Note that at all times either the staff should be in position or the level should be in position - they should never both be off the ground and moving at the same time. When moving the instrument, it may be carried on its tripod with the legs closed and held in a vertical position, but if being transported in a vehicle then the level should be placed in its case and the case held on the lap of one of the passengers.
