ABSTRACT
MHP 1.1 introduces several new features to MHP receivers, such as APIs for controlling Internet clients and communicating with smart cards, and the ability to store applications in the receiver. This chapter introduces these features of MHP 1.1 and several more, looking at the opportunities they offer to application developers and network operators. There are some risks to using MHP 1.1 that must be considered, and we will also take a look at how these affect the deployment of MHP 1.1 applications and receivers.
