ABSTRACT

How will social robots be deployed in our daily lives? It would be great if fully autonomous robots work in the real world as designed; however, this would need a lot of technologies that are not available today. Robots have difficulty in recognizing people’s voices in noisy environments. Robots do not know about people and environments, and thus there is a big knowledge gap, perhaps to be filled by some learning technique in the future. Do we need to wait for such techniques to become available?
