ABSTRACT

This book is designed mainly to help level 2 and level 3 refinishing students understand the technical side of their new subject, but it can also be used as a reference guide for refinishers already in the industry (believe it or not even the author is still trying new techniques and trialing new technology in the refinishing world which means learning all the time). Restoration and custom enthusiasts should also find many interesting features. The refinishing industry provides a rewarding career for many people. The satisfaction to be gained from seeing a vehicle come in with accident damage, go through the repair process, and then leave as a finished product is something that is not often found in other parts of the motor industry. Another rewarding aspect of working on vehicle paint work is the fact that every job is different. These differences may be working on different makes of vehicle, different panels, applying different colours and finishes, and obviously the different damage that may be found on the panels.
