ABSTRACT

The recent years have seen an increased interest in elliptic Gaussian laser beams. A decentered elliptic Gaussian beam propagating in a non-axially-symmetric optical system was discussed in Ref. [81]. Such beams are described using tensors. In Ref. [82] decentered elliptic Gauss-Hermite beams were introduced. An elliptic Gaussian beam of partially coherent light was dealt with in Ref. [83]. Fresnel diffraction of an elliptic (astigmatic) Gaussian beam by a diffraction grating is studied in Ref. [84]. In Ref. [85] the propagation of such a beam in a uniaxial crystal is investigated, whereas Ref. [86] studies second-harmonic generation in a non-linear crystal using an elliptic laser beam.
