ABSTRACT
Questions on parenteral nutrition have appeared in the primary examination, albeit rarely, as the topic lends itself more towards the final examination. Nevertheless, as doctors who may be involved in prescribing total parenteral nutrition (TPN) within the critical care setting, examiners would expect a basic understanding of the indications, nutritional content requirements and complications associated with this form of feeding.
