ABSTRACT
Even in the best run hospital blood pressure clinics, audit generally shows about 20% above target pressure. If drop-outs are included, and assumed to be uncontrolled, this proportion will be much higher. Drop-outs include those who collect repeat prescriptions, and are presumably taking their medication, but attend follow-up rarely or not at all.
