ABSTRACT

‘I want to spend the last 20 minutes talking about a new client, a young lad at the school, who I saw for the first time last Thursday.’ Simon always wanted to at least check in with new clients as soon as possible in supervision, to first of all keep his supervisor up to date on who he was seeing, but also to use it as an opportunity to pick up anything related to how he was reacting to the client and the impact it could be having on the quality of the therapy he was offering. Often he didn’t feel he had anything specific to raise, but that wasn’t the case with Nick.
