ABSTRACT
If blood circulation is to be maintained, and tissues are to be perfused with oxygen, then the correct pressures must be maintained within the vascular system. We considered pressure measurements in Chapter 18. However, if oxygen and nutrients are to reach tissues then a flow of blood must be maintained. Pressure does not necessarily result in flow.
