ABSTRACT
In Jules Verne's novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth a party of explorers descend into the crater of an extinct volcano and after traversing many passages and shafts eventually reach the centre of the Earth. Throughout the journey the expedition appears to experience normal gravity.
