ABSTRACT

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) service strategy “defines the perspective, position, plans and patterns that a service provider needs to execute to meet an organization’s business outcomes” (Axelos Limited, 2011). A successfully executed cloud service strategy enables the organization to deliver new service and value faster with improved efficiency and acceptable user service quality. When sufficient time and cost are squeezed out of the application design, transition, and operation life cycle, organizations can shift their business strategy to exploit more business opportunities, such as focusing service offerings on smaller and smaller market segments.
