ABSTRACT
A 71-year-old man is brought to the Emergency Department as a ‘priority call’ with a 3-day history of shortness of breath. He reports a cough that has become increasingly productive of green-coloured sputum, which is different to what he normally brings up. He has a history of moderate COPD and has been using his home nebulisers regularly for the past few days, but to little effect.
