ABSTRACT

Heat is a critical need in a person’s everyday life. Heat warms bath water, cooks food, and dries clothes. In winter, heat is a dire necessity when temperatures plunge to subfreezing levels. Many manufacturing operations also make use of heat in production processes, such as melting and bonding materials, boiling liquids and solutions, and curing and drying products. Heat is thermal energy, and it is put to use in many ways in order to meet different types of needs. Other energy forms are also applied in various ways to meet other kinds of needs.
