ABSTRACT
A most useful property of sinusoidal functions of the same frequency is that the relationship between any two functions may be expressed in terms of a single complex quantity. That quantity has (1) a magnitude, which has dimensions appropriate to the physical interpretation of the two functions, and (2) a phase-displacement angle.
