ABSTRACT
One of the primary motivating goals of this text was to motivate and produce a set of reference implementations for several popular classes of algorithms in supervised learning. As discussed in Chapter 1, we feel that understanding the computational details behind statistical modeling algorithms is an important aspect of learning how to build predictive models.
